My Mom had surgery for a tumor last October. She contracted an infection in her colon from the hospital's overuse of antibiotics. Nothing seemed to help. I found Stonyfield Farms yogurt which has 2 strains of probiotics that are more than starter cultures. Lcasei is one of those cultures. She mixes it with Activia (for better taste). And just today I told her about Danactive. The Stonyfield Farms has helped her where the Drs. couldn't. She still has some bloodwork to go, but she has gained the much needed weight that she'd lost and feels much much better. We were worried that she was losing the battle of long term infection. We have God's nutrition found in those probiotics. And no, I don't want to buy a bridge, but would suggest to the commenter to not be so quick to judge without knowledge or experience. I'm not big on buying brand names, but I do know firsthand what Stonyfield Farms yogurt did for my Mom. I believe it saved her life.

Here! Here! All people really have to do is cut down on sugar, I also use honey, a natural antibiotic. I hate artificial sweeteners. No matter which one it is it has as horrible aftertaste that I just can't get around. Tastes nasty, in fact, I have to eat something to cleanse my mouth. Plus your body doesn't process it. That is scary.

My husband and I agree on this. But it makes it tough when we have company who only drink diet soda. We have to buy it and if they don't want to take it home we are left with it. Then we can't stomach it so down the drain it goes. We do usually have unsweetned tea and plenty of water on hand too. Most of the time they settle for that.

Cindy, thanks for confirming that the artificial route is NOT as healthy as some believe.

FM- I think that is a great story. I read that last week as well and it goes along exactly with my website. I'm on a 'diet' where I eat fast food, I have to because I'm always on the road. There are plenty of healthy choices out there you just have to find them. The food can be good too, you just have to know what to get. Good post.

michelle, preservatives do not always equal bad. salt is a preservative. i've got some tasso and chorizo curing right now in my fridge, dredged in only salt and spices, the salt being the only PRESERVATIVE i have added, and i regard salt to be fairly natural!

Hi Janeway,
I think you are responding to my McDonald's Post. First off thanks for your frank comment - I appreciate feedback on the posts I write.
No, McDonald's did not pay me to write this :-). My only intention in posting this was to show that even so called "unhealthy" places have good choices if only people would choose them. I felt it was relevant and very much in fitting with the philosophy of this blog which is "Making Fitness A Way Of Life". I am sorry you did not find it to your liking but that only makes me want to work harder.
And finally for the lack of posting, I am working on a new look for this blog with a different format of posting and a different way to subscribe. Until then posting is likely to be patchy.
Thanks again and I hope to see you on this site often!

Is McDonalds paying you to post this story? And if not, are they paying the guy who lost weight eating their food? Is this guy another Jared? What a joke. (Normally like your blog, but what's up lately???)
