Obesity: Not just diet and exercise alone?

Ask the average person why people are getting fatter and the response is likely to be things like “we are eating more” and “we exercise less”. The shrewd among us may have even noticed things like increased dependence on automation (escalators, elevators, automobiles) and decreased focus on the right kind of diet - but these indirectly fall under the same old diet-exercise duet of reasons.
According to a recent report in the International Journal of Obesity, however, investigators from the University of Alabama show how about 10 other reasons could explain the rise in obesity. Some of the top ones include reduced sleep, increased air-conditioning and hormonal changes in our body.
