problogger list projectDarren Rowse from Problogger has started a new group writing project and this week’s topic is list-writing. Regular readers of this blog know that, just like Darren, I love lists too. In most of my posts I try to include an action item list at the end or a list of additional resources. The reasons I feel lists are useful are quite similar to those in this list from Darren.

If you are here via ProBlogger, I would like to welcome you to Fitness Mantra, a health and fitness blog I started about 3 months back. The goal of Fitness Mantra is encapsulated in the byline itself: Make fitness your way of life. No fad-diets, no food-group-shunning; simply an educated, simple way to include better foods in our diets and understand how our body works with those foods.

Over the course of these 3 months, I have written many articles particularly related to calories and why understanding our body’s specific needs, and tailoring our intake based on that, is of utmost importance. In this post I simply want to highlight those specific posts with a brief description of what the post is about (reading these in the given order would yield the most benefit). Regular readers, even if you have read these articles before, I recommend reading them again if only for reinforcement of the message they convey together.

5 links to calorie-conscious fitness:

  1. What is a calorie? The calorie: defined and demystified.
  2. The Golden Rule of Fitness Mantra: The simple equation of input and output.
  3. What exactly are you eating? How many calories are in that? Easy ways to find out.
  4. It’s the total calories that count Gives a list (oh yes, I do love lists) of steps to take to begin your own calorie regimen.
  5. Finally, an understanding of Calorific Payload (I just might have invented that term!) and why the calories in some foods are nothing more than just “empty” calories.

If you liked this post and would like to be a regular reader of articles that expound the virtue of making fitness part of our everyday life, do consider subscribing to Fitness Mantra by RSS or simply enter your email-address at the top of this page and click “Subscribe” (You will receive a single email a day, and only if new content is posted).

Let’s continue to make fitness our way of life.
